LECTURA

; A donde va usted? (Where are you going?)

- Voy a la casa. (I am going home)

- Buenos dias (Good morning)

- ; De donde viene usted? (Where do you come from?)

- Vengo de la clase de Español. (I come from the Spanish class)

- Vengo de la oficina del decano. (I come from the office of the dean.)

- ;A donde vas? (Where are you going?)

- Voy a la biblioteca. (I’m going to the library.)

-; Que vas a hacer alli? (What are you going to do there?)

- Voy a llamar a Salvador y a Consuelo. (I’m going to call Salvador and Consuelo.)

- Ellas vienen de la ciudad y quieren ir a la Cafeteria conmigo. (They come from the city and they like to go to the refresment parlor with me.)

- Vamos a tomar refresco (Let’s go to take refreshment.)

- Queires ir con nosotros? (Do you like to go with us?)

 

Gramatica

IR – to go                                                                             Venir – to come

Yo Voy – I go                                                                         Yo Vengo – I come

Tu Vas – you go                                                                   Tu Vienes – you come

Usted (pol.) va – you go                                                      Usted (pol.) Viene – you come

El, ella Va – he/ she goes                                                  el, ella viene – he/ she comes

Nosotros- as vamos – we go                                             nosotros-as – venimos       

Vosotros-as vais – you go                                                  vosotros-as – venis – you come

Ustedes van – you go                                                         ustedes vienen – you come

Ellos,ellas Van – they go                                                    ellos, ellas Vienen – they come

 

Commands

                Vaya usted (go) singular                                    Venga usted (come) singular

                Vayan ustedes (go) plural                                  Vengan ustedes (come) plural

 

Note. The Verbs IR and Venir require the preposition a when they are used with an infinitive.

                Ejemplos (examples)

1.       Voy a comprar frutas. ( I am going to buy fruits.)

2.       Vengo a saca mi lapis. (I come to get my pencil

Note: Vamos a means let us.

1.       Vamos a tomar refresco. (Let us take refefreshment.)

2.       Vamos a comer. (Let us eat.)

 Note: The preposition a means “to”. Except in certain idioms. Do not use it to translate “at” which is “en”.

                                Vamos a casa. (We are going (to) home.)

                                Estamos en casa (We are at home)
