How to find book easily

1. Familiarize yourself with the different sections of the library.
2. Use the OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalog) which is located near the entrance of the library. This will help you find book or any library materials easily. Search by title, author, subject, call number, series, keyword, category and more.. Just type a word and click the search button or just click the selected icon and click the search button.(For further assistance, just ask the librarian in charge or the student assistant on duty.)
3. In case of the unavailability of the OPAC, use the card catalog which is the index to the contents of the library and is located just near the OPAC. It is a series of card arranged alphabetically in drawers. Each book contains three cards: author card, title card and subject card.
If you want to know the availability of the book, look it up under the authors title of the book or subject. A sample of each card is hereby given:

The number on the top corner is called the call number. This indicates the place where the book is to be found on the shelves. The catalog card will give information about the book.
4. The shelves for the Gen. Reading Book is labeled. Always write down the call no. so that it will be easier for you to look for the book.
